SUMMER NEWS LETTER #07
From Pat Craig W33 May 28
I just got word today that Leonard Jesperson passed away. His sister, Jenny Voss called to say that he died working in the garden. He had a history of heart problems. He lived in the park on lot 302 and was an avid pool player. His wife Sharon plays a lot of bridge. Our hearts go out to Sharon and her family. Their home address is

From Dale & Jan Riggins, Monticello, Illinois, lot #513. May 29
We arrived in Monticello Friday, May 15th after visiting with our daughter in Florida. On the way from Texas to Florida we ran over a pipe in the road in Louisiana that disabled the fuel pump, banged up the gas tank and brackets. We spent 2 days in Crowley, LA, getting the fuel pump replaced and temporary fix on the gas tank because the garage couldn't get a new tank for a week. We went on to Florida and had a new tank and brackets put on there. Had a good visit with our daughter and husband before returning to Illinois. Dale is feeling a little low because he will turn 80 tomorrow. Our son and family are coming to celebrate. We have collected 18 coats to date and a mission here in town is going to save more for us to bring south. We went camping over memorial day with 15 members of our club. The night we got here, we had a hail storm and it did $2000 damage to our car, $1350 to our suburban and $3,337 to our roof on the house. West of our town it totaled out some cars and broke windows in many houses. We were lucky. Hope you all have a safe and fun summer, see ya in Oct. Love, Jan & Dale

We had a great trip to IN. I went to my 60th class reunion. Some of my classmates look older than me! Or at least I think so.
We got to Washington on May 13th have been busy in yard and getting acquainted with the great grandchildren. Art has been working some on the motor home. He wants to go camping someplace,
It has been warm here for this time of year. In the 80's with no rain. We sure could use some.
Don Badgley June 1 Please ignore the message that you got this morning. I am not in England and although $2500 from about 500 people sounds interesting I am not asking for that either!
Sorry about that. Don
Don Badgley June 1 I am not in England and I do not need any money – but thanks for the thought! I have a virus in my computer and the message was sent to everyone on my contacts. Please ignore it!

Just a quick note to let you know that I will be in San Antonio until Saturday and then on Monday I am flying to Laughlin, NV for 5 nights. Come home and then back to San Antonio Tuesday and Wednesday to see the Broadway play “Wicked.” My calendar is full for the month and that is the way I like it..
Angel’s Restaurant has moved from Bus 83 to the former Mi Hacienda on Inspiration and Bus 83. They had to move because the other location did not come up to the fire codes and the landlord would not make any improvements to the building.
The old Broadway Hardware Store on Conway is having a big clearance sale and they are closing the doors for good. A clerk told me that they may reopen if the boss is able to buy the building.
