SUMMER
NEWSLETTER 03
MAY 7, 2008
From
Alice Przybylski
Hello
to all of my BG Friends and BG Gals.-My
hands are so cold! I was just outside to fill the Bird
Feeder.
The
Cardinals were out sitting in the Lilac Bushes looking for some food,
along
with a lot of other smaller birds. The robins have it made right now,
as
the ground is so wet the worms are just popping up all over the yard.
I
woke up this morning to a snow storm! It was snowing and blowing. I
went out and took some pictures of our April28th Snow Storm !
On
the weather channel they had a few dates of past spring storms, so
this
is
not so unusual for a Wisconsin Spring .
I
think we have at least 6" on the ground. A lot of it has
already melted . And that's a good thing because the sidewalks
are staying wet and bare.
It's
so beautiful outside. The whole world looks like a Christmas
Card !
I
don't know what time it started, but those big snow flakes have been
falling
down
since about 6:00am. this morning.
Tamie,
and I are supposed to go to a Partylite Candle Showing tonight,
but
I don't know about that. My fireplace feels so nice and warm
right now !
All
I really need is a few boxes of Vanilla Tea Lites anyway !
But it is fun to go and see what's new.
The
snow is slowly diminishing so I better go fix my hair in case I
decide to go with Tamie tonight. It's a mess after making several
trips out in the snow with my hood on.
"May
God Bless YOU" with all the good things there are in
this life.
From
Arlie and Donna Heisterberg, Hi Barb and BG friends! We arrived
in Wichita Falls, TX on the way home for a very special Red Hat mini
convention - 117 QMB posters, purple perks, online chatters, met,
hugged and laughed together for 4 days. It was cooler in WF. about
50-60 degrees. I had a ball but Arlie missed his coffee group at BG
and was on his own because men aren't allowed. He checked out the
town and rested up for the remainder of the trip. We have had cold
and rain, snow flurries and sleet pretty often since we got home but
it is warmer and sunny on occasion! LOL! I haven't felt well since I
got home, still had the TX crud. Been to the Dr 2 times and 2 rounds
of antibiotics and Medrol dose pack. Hope I get over it soon. I love
receiving the newsletter. You are doing a great job and we really
appreciate it!
Hugs

Stacy W118 & Betty Taylor F11 We
had an excellent trip home. The weather was great. We had sunshine
and dry roads all the way. In Denton, Tx, We saw Dewey and Mary Lou
Carpenter at the restaurant where we ate and they were staying at the
same motel where we were staying. Small world. In Ames, IA. we met
Clara Sudbeck (formally E street) and had dinner with her and her
friend in Hickory Park Restaurant. We are looking forward to a good
summer.
From
Jack Johnson (May 2 ) Hi All, As I am leaving Texas, headed
back to Michigan, I will be off line until I can get back with you.
Chat
with you all later Jack
Duane
and Mary Pool, Lot 629 Thanks
very much for the newsletters. We are about the same. Playing some
cards and eating out with friends. Jean Needs had her breast cancer
operation. Hasn't started radiation yet, but it doing great. Working
all the time as usual. She is a hard worker. Weather has finally
gotten a little nicer. I must remember not to come home so early next
year. I am in a lot of pain. May have to have neck surgery, see the
surgeon in 2 weeks have already had an MRI and it showed several
troublesome places. Spurs, herniated disc and a cyst. This Friday I
start a series of 3 injections in my knee. 1 a week for 3 weeks. That
should put off having knee surgery. Also just recovered from a 3 week
bout with bronchitis, so hopefully I am on the mend. We have been
going to the Sr. Center a couple times a week to eat with the Sr.
Citizens. It only costs 2.50 and the fellowship is great. Better
close for now and get ready to go. Duane has been keeping busy with
yard work and volunteer jobs, mostly at church. We went to
Reynoldsburg, OH over the weekend to visit with our daughter and
family. Very enjoyable trip. Our only grandchild is now 15. How do
they grow up so quickly? Later.
Joni
Davisson W3 Wisconsin Just
a little news to share:
My
cousin Cindy, who has been staying with me this year, and I went on a
driving adventure down into Mexico the end of March and beginning of
April. We had gone on bus tours in Mexico and enjoyed them a lot, but
found that the travel days were a little long and the exploring too
fast paced. We decided to tour Mexico at a more relaxed pace by
driving ourselves.
We
didn't go on the toll roads, instead we followed the "red roads"
- better highways - roughly along the East coast of Mexico all the
way to just north of Veracruz. We explored little towns, mountain
villages, small river towns, archaeological ruins, banana and coffee
plantations, Indian jungle villages, and spent the most time at a
little old beach hotel on the Emerald Coast.
Once
we got away from the border, we found everything very safe and
friendly. Even though the roads, in places, made for slow going, we
never had a bit of trouble. I can speak a little Spanish, enough to
get us by, and the Mexican natives are so friendly and helpful. Gas
was much cheaper in Mexico than in the US and in the small towns we
preferred the hotels and restaurants were also very reasonable.
We
enjoyed ourselves so much that we are planning a fall trip across
northern Mexico and then thru all the little fishing villages down
the west coast of Mexico. My Mexican auto insurance is good for a
year, so we may spend a month or more exploring on our own.
Cindy
is getting ready to head north to see her sons for the summer. I plan
to head to Wisconsin in mid June. Bentsen Grove finally got a much
needed good long soaking rain on April 27th and now everything is
green and the grass is growing! Our days are getting summer-like with
highs in the low 90's and predicting 98 later this week. The AC is
keeping us cool on these hot afternoons and mornings and evenings are
wonderful outside.
Best
wishes for happy summers to all.
