LAST SUMMER NEWS LETTER #17

SENT NOVEMBER 1, 2007

From Jerry & Carol Ellis,( IL. Lot #733): Just found out about the newsletter and was happy to hear how BG is changing and about everyone's summer.. Our trip home ended just outside of San Antonio, TX. with a traffic accident on March 26th. We were hit by a truck with no insurance, the guy had no DL, plus he walked away unhurt, he was arrested though. We both were injured. Jerry has a pacemaker which was right where the seat belt hit him so he was in a lot of pain from that plus a previous back injury! He also had knee injuries. It was very scary and stressful!!

Our van was flat bedded to New Braunfels, TX. ( so was the truck ) they had our van working on it from that date, March 27th. until May 24th. ?? You all know how slow things are in TX. right? We finally managed to get home, but my left lung collapsed, as I had serious seat belt injuries, then from the stress, got Shingles on May 27th! It all had to be turned in to our insurance company so that was a bummer also. This was not a very good spring and summer for us! We are now on the mend! It will be nice to get to our winter home after having Christmas with our family and get some much needed R&R.. We are planning a different route down in December! I hope it helps. :) We are thankful it was not worse! God was surely with us that morning. Jerry & Carol Ellis, IL.

From Barb Goff (A26) Another summer has come and gone. Sorry I don't have any more news from Hope. She does not have a computer handy and has not been able to send us news. But at last report she is recovering and hopes to be down some time this winter season. It certainly will be good to see her – she, along with many other volunteers, has done a lot to make this park a friendly, active home away from home.

The Halloween Party last night was very well attended and a lot of fun. There will be some good pictures on the bulletin board so that everyone can enjoy those cleaver costumes. We had a Headless Horseman, Cinderella, Scarecrow, Wolfman, Bikers and everything in between. The Caveman and woman sure belted each other with a big bone, and the Pig In A Blanket wiggled her way around the parade route. Then we played games and had a great finger food buffet.

Here is some important information from the Winter Times ( last week's edition). Carl Ryan was good enough to put this info in The Mirror and I felt it should be passed on to as many Winter Texans as possible. "The State Department has issued a statement saying passports will not be required to enter Mexico until the summer of 2008. Until then those who cross the border to travel in Mexico must present a birth certificate and a valid driver's license." That's it for now until they change their minds again.

I hope that the News Letter has helped everyone to keep in touch with his or her neighbors – that was the purpose of sending it out. God bless and for those of you traveling, have a safe journey. We'll be waiting for you.

P.S. This address will not be operating during the winter months except for keeping the address book current – new addresses, change of address. So please do not send any news nor any jokes, pictures, etc. to this address. Thanks.
