From Aron and Elsie Zacharias (formerly B12):Would
love to receive the BG news letters, as we spent 15 winters there. We
were at B12, and my husband had the rose garden. His health does not
permit us to come down anymore, as insurance from Canada is really
high.

From Don and Carla Badgley ( W235, Resident )
News from Alise Circle: We have been remiss in not keeping fellow BGers
up to date on the goings-on at our house. Last summer we were able to
communicate through Hope Jones' newsletter. However this summer we have
been SO busy! But we will now try because the saga of the pool
continues! As you may recall, one of the many impediments in the way of
opening our new, below-ground swimming pool was the steep stairway
leading down from the house to the pool. It turned out that there was
just no way that those stairs could be modified to conform to the local
Code. What a disappointment! Last year, before we built the house and
the pool we allowed plenty of space on the lot for a cabana which, of
course, every well designed pool should include This has been the year
to construct the cabana. It is almost finished. Realizing the problem
with the stairs, we decided to include in the cabana an elevator down
to the pool level. Thus we would have an entirely different access to
the pool and not need those stairs. We trust that this will be
conforming. The finishing touches are being made to the elevator as we
speak. Plus, we are in the midst of having the ceramic tile finished on
the floor of the passage connecting the elevator to the pool proper. We
are excited about the newest additions and hope that we will soon be
able to show them to our friends and neighbors! Additionally, when the
plans for the cabana were being drawn it was decided to include a loft.
We will soon have a fine place to display Carla's art collection
– but more about that later! There are many other things
happening on Alise Circle. That would be expected with the new
neighbors who have added so much "class" to what used to be a rather
stogy street. We hope to bring reports of the soirées as they
occur .

From Jacque Shell: I want to
thank all of you for all your thoughts and prayers during my resent
back surgery. You must have really prayed for me because my surgery
went very well and I have had very little distress at all during my
recovery. I saw the doctor for the first time today since the operation
and he was very impressed by how well I have healed. I asked him if I
could resume my clogging and he said to take it slowly, but if it did
not hurt, go for it. I still have to wear a back brace and may have to
for some time. But otherwise I am just to be very careful and take it
slowly. I told him that you just can't keep cloggers down for very
long. He said he had to agree with me that my dancing was probably why
I bounced back so quickly. Again, my thanks to all of you and can't
wait till Oct. 28th when we leave to come down to the valley. See
you then . Jacque

From Bonnie: A great big THANKS
to all who helped with the painting and cleaning up in the North Hall.
It is sure shaping up. We will be purchasing some new plants for the
stage area. Also THANKS to Charlene for re-doing the picture board, it
looks great! Thanks to all who helped with any of the cleanup in the
North Hall. Also, regarding my last article in the newsletter, Bobby
has not approved the building of the wall for the in-park mail boxes as
of this time. When he makes his decision, we will pass it along to all
of you. Thanks again to all the volunteers.
