SUMMER NEWS LETTER #08

SENT 06-22-07

From Barb Goff (A26): Got home last night from my visit in Mass. and hit the sack at 7: 30p.m. Tuff to be a little old lady. Had a great visit with family and enjoyed all kinds of wonderful North Atlantic sea food – mainly lobster, clams and haddock. Also enjoyed the grapenut ice cream, ice coffee and bread puddings. Those New Englanders sure know how to eat!

The scenery is beautiful up there – lots of woods, mountains and beaches. My visit was much too short. But you know, as pretty as it is, I wouldn't leave Mission for that area. It's pretty darn nice, right here.

Another sad note for the paper. Arlette Kluge (Lot 121 MN), passed away in MN this week of acute leukemia. You can send cards to her son:

Harry Kluge

From Wilma Mueller( A47): Development along the Exp & Shary road is really coming along. It's really going to surprise you all when you return. Blockbuster Video, Gorditas, Marble Slab, Just-a-Cut, Nail Salon, & a Blue Shell Restaurant will be located facing Shary Road to the west of H-E-B. Marianne's, Payless Shoes, TJ Maxx & Ross Dress for Less will be between H-E-B & Target. To the east of Target there will be Merle Norman, Senders, Sally Beauty, Office Depot, Anna's Lines, Famous Footware, Dots & Petco. A Wendy's & Chick-Fil-A are already under construction along the frontage road. A small strip to the west of the Chick-Fil-A will have a Mattress Superstore, Pick-a-Salad & Taqueria El Zarape. Chili's is already open & doing a thriving business. According to Pat Townsend there are only about 5 sites still available. We can certainly do a lot of shopping right here in Mission. One thing about construction down here the rain sure doesn't stop the building as it does up North.

Marion Kinsella, E14, is in the hospital. She had some trouble breathing & they put a stent in. According to Gayle, her daughter, she had a heart attack. The last I heard she was going to a room today as she had been in ICU.

Bill is still in the hospital & Ron Hamel, A16, Jim Kirk, A54,John Trevorrow, C13, John Wudarczyk, E23, & Keith & Janet Croffoot, F40 are doing his lawns. When we need help we can always depend on the people here at BG. Be careful you guys - Bill may decide to take the whole summer off. Bill has since gotten home & is doing pretty good. Guess it takes a while to get over this type of surgery. I'm sure Dottie is a good nurse.

Take Care!

Ed and Doris Wofford(E-60):Our daughter, Tommye, has spent some time with us lately. She was in a motorcycle accident, and injured both knees. A Dr. in Edinburg had been recommended to her, so she came here from Terlingua, Tex. to have the work done. Both knees are fine, and she is recuperating at home, now.

We plan to spend the month of July in Oklahoma. Doris has 2 sisters and a brother there. We plan to attend the "Cowboy" church there, again.I wrote the Newsletter about it last year. We really got a blessing from it.

Our son, Mike, and his wife Christi, will be moving to this park the last of this month. They will be helping his mother and I in the auctions next season. We are looking forward to their help.

Auctions will have a new face next season. I will advertise changes in plenty of time.

Look forward to seeing everyone in the fall. Ed and Doris Wofford

From Doris Hott (D16): This is Doris Hott from the top of the mitt of Mich. I am leaving home to have a reunion with my four sisters near Croswell Mi..We do this every year. We range in age from 67 to 82. It has been very hot here for about a week, high 80's and 90's with high humidity. The weatherperson says we will have a rain storm after midnight tonight and the temperature will be in the 70's tomorrow. We need rain very badly. I look forward to that.

Our sick friends are in my prayers. My grandson, Adam, will be home from Iraq for two weeks and then goes back for the rest of his hitch there.

I love to get the news letter Doris Hott
