Tele. (616) 396-3943
She would love to hear from you.

From Harold Buechly (W5) I for one very much appreciate Barbara taking on the summer bulletin during Hopes recuperation. Lets help her by:
1. Subscribing by sending an email with the word "Subscribe" in the Subject line to: bentsen.grove@gmail.com . Include your full name, lot number, state and email address in each correspondence. It will make it much easier if you will list the 4 items together ( full name, lot number, state and email address).
2. Send your News by sending an email with the word "News" in the Subject line to: bentsen.grove@gmail.com. Again don't forget ( full name, lot number, state and email address)
3. In case you update or change your email address, sending an email with the word "Address Change" in the Subject line to: bentsen.grove@gmail.com . Again full name etc. Not just Tom or Mary. There could be 4 Tom's and 5 Mary's on a list this size.
Lets do our part in making it as easy as we can on Barbara. She has other interests in her life and should not have to spend 8 or more hours each week in the newsletter

From Val Barron: (W96): We came up to Houston in early March to help my 91 year old mother move from her apartment into my sister's home. The move went smoothly and my mom loves it here at Cissy's.
Val had several follow-up doctor's appointments scheduled and at the first one we found out that he needed to have surgery to remove his patella (kneecap). The surgery was on April 10 and much to our surprise the doctor was able to do a major repair instead of completely removing the patella. This may allow Val to be able to stand and pivot for transfers later on. However, it means he has to be in a full leg immobilizer with no weight-bearing for 6 weeks!
It's a good thing he loves to listen to music and read since those are great activities for someone who spends most of every 24 hours in bed. We do try to get him out in the car for a short time a couple of times a week. His outlook continues to be positive and upbeat!
For
anyone who might be interested I've started posting to my blog again.

From Joy Gerstner (D12) Barb - just received this from Eddie Bakker, formerly of D13- they were not able to come down this past season because of their health - and sold out - about March.
This came at a good time. I've been in the hospital for a total ankle replacement, sent to rehab for therapy and then developed an infection and back to the hospital, for almost a month. I've been home 3 days now and all is going well. Can't put any weight on the replaced ankle but it's sure good to be home. Decided today was the day to check out our e mail as i don't think bill does. he's doing ok, thank heavens. Am glad to be back in circulation. Edde B

From Alice Przybylski (D3 ) Illinois will begin using photo radar in freeway work zones in July. Second offense tickets are $1,000 with license suspension. Beginning in July the State of Illinois will use speed cameras in areas designated as "Work Zones" on major freeways. Anyone caught by these devices will be mailed a $375.00 ticket for the FIRST offense, but the SECOND offense will cost $1000.00 and comes with a 90-Day suspension. Drivers will also receive demerit points against their license, which allows insurance companies to raise their rates. This represents the harshest penalty structure yet for a city or state using PHOTO enforcement. The State will begin with TWO camera vans issuing tickets in work zones with speed limits lowered to 45 MPH. Photographs of both the Driver's face and License plate are taken.
Pass this on to everyone you know !!!!

From Peggy Philbrook (Lot 707): Park is so quiet and the outdoor pool is once again MINE!! Well, me and a few others but I've been in the outdoor pool twice this week all by myself. It's lovely to be able to swim the whole length without banging noggins. (But we do miss you, honest.) The new lounge chairs are really nice.
Gordon and I went over to the new HEB on EXP 83 this afternoon. Our first visit. I wasn't that impressed - were you? It is sort of barn-like and I haven't figured out the layout. I did like the Texas Garden section and in spite of not having any yard, still bought a plant.
