Windows XP users sometimes have problems when booting up the operating system. To solve this problem use Windows Advanced Options Menu. Turn your computer on and hold down the F8 key on your keyboard until the Advanced Options Menu appears. A number of options are available that will help to solve most problems. The up and down arrow keys on the keyboard must be used to highlight (select) your options choice. The options choice “Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked)” helped to boot up my computer after other frustrating attempts failed. Good luck. Pop UP Stopper v.3.1.101 is available free at http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,8060,00.asp

Richard Lehnhardt reports a new internet service available
throughout the RGV from On 4/23/04 I sent a e-mail and on 5/4/04 I sent a second request. I asked the following questions. Questions: What
technology are you using (WiMax, 802.16 etc.)? Do you want
to serve the Winter Texans? Do you want your
services described in our next bulletin? Do you have a
speaker available for our meeting? Is the $29.00
price an introduction price or expected to last long term? May a router
be connected to your modem and several computers to the router? It there a wireless
modem your customers may buy elsewhere, possibly at a lower price and use on
your system? I received a
reply 5/6 at 10:55 AM: Harold; We are using a Navine non-line-of-sight wireless system which uses mmds radio frequencies, 2.6 GHz, and is 802.16e and 802.20
compliant. You may further research
the system in the white pages at Navini.com. (http://www.Navini.com
) Our transceiver is technically a
bridge and doesn’t require a software installation on your machine. You plug the transceiver or Ripwave directly into a 10baseT or RJ45 port. It will place a network, computer, camera,
or any device capable of holding an ip address
directly onto the internet. We do not
charge by the amount of devices using our service through one Ripwave, but we do not allow resell of our services and
we do have different service plans for individual users and business
users. We can provide static IP’s and
nomadic service if required. See our
price lists, coverage areas, and acceptable use policy at www.rioplexwireless.com . The transceiver or Ripwave we sell is
licensed to RioPlex Wireless and may not be sold to
the public except through our authorized dealership. I have seen used Ripwaves
for sale on e-bay and you should be aware that the Navini
system is worldwide. We have many
Winter Texans using our system. If you would like a representative to give a presentation we can
set up an appointment.
It is reported that
AOL will allow sending and receiving of e-mail with Outlook or Outlook
Express beginning on May 4th 2004. http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/answerstips/story/0,24330,3681057,00.html
